Open Paint and select Image, Attributes. Set width=480 pixels and height=350 pixels.
Then select Edit, Paste From (select an image from the line art disk)
The following error will appear:
The image in the bitmap is larger than the bitmap. Would you
like the bitmap enlarged?
Select NO
You will see a box with dotted lines. Grab a corner with your
cursor and drag it until it fits inside the white drawing area. Continue
adjusting the box until the whole
image fits in the white area and the proportions are correct.
Select File, Save As
Where it says Save as type: select Monochrome Bitmap
Select a directory on you hard drive, name the file and save it.
You will get the following error message:
Saving into this format may cause some loss of color information.
Do you want to continue? YES
Start the ScanSoft PC Software
Select File, Open, Files of Type (.bmp)
Pick the drive, directory and file name you just saved.
The software will ask if you want to trace the outline. Say NO.
You should now have a design you can work with.
