  My Equipment

The following are some photo's of my personal equipment as well as images from the web of equipment I use. I use a Meade LX200 on a standard wedge and standard tripod. My ETX 90 is mounted as a guide scope using a piggyback scope mounting kit from Scopestuff. Having it available comes in handy when imaging and wanting to visually observe my object. (Nothing beats seeing with your own eyes) Sometimes it's nice to just see a different view from the LX 200. The Maksatov Cassegrain is a great piece of equipment also. I use a Macintosh Powerbook G4 with Starry Night Pro 4.5 for computer control of the scope and for capturing images from my Adirondak Astrovid Stellacam II and my Canon Mini-DV video camera. Everything is powered from a 12v marine battery that I built into a tool box on wheels. It has three 12v plugs as well as 1 AC outlet. It also has two storage trays that I keep the cables, control pad, some eyepices, diagnols and focal reducers in. I use a Williams Optics Crayford style focuser to eliminate image shift. and Kendricks dew system. The observatory is all 1" pvc and goes up and breaks down in less than 10 minutes. Folds to 6'x4' with covering attached.
