The following was posted on a chat board catering to bulk email operators on 5/18/98, after hearing that the Murkowski/Torricelli amendment to S-1618 was passed by the Senate. The moderator quickly removed it because "anti-spammers" (those who don't like getting their inboxes filled with unwanted ads) were lurking.

"And the first thing Im going to do is send Opportunities LEGALLY to every ANTI I can. And I will say this is a one time only mailing and give them a removal option. Then I will change to another account and another and continue. Its gonna be legal to do that. I'm gonna have a blast. And the minute they try to get one of my accounts pulled I will sue them for trying to stop me from legally mailing."

Note the tactic. If junk email ever becomes legitimate, this will be how then can get away with repeat spaming you!
