Unemployment Insurance for Low Wage Workers
Los Cruces,
Ohio drivers allowed to receive unemployment benefits
How many of us are able to collect unemployment during the summer?
How much do you get paid if you figure your hourly rate based on a 52 week work year.
I get $6.21 gross pay based on this and our school board says we get paid too much! How about you?
Would you, or have you, participated in any government action to change this law?
If all 400,000 bus drivers joined hands and started working together - do
you think the government might listen?
One person alone cannot move a mountain - but 400,000 school bus drivers... ???
Liz, bus #965, from Minnesota is asking these questions and I feel that they are important enough to all school bus drivers that we should answer. (Frank)
lwestlun@ties2.netHere is her e-mail address so you can answer her directly if you like.
I figured my "REAL" wages and I only receive $5.28 per hour. (annual wages / 2375=dollars per hour)
2375 represents 37.5 hours per week and a 50 week year. 40 hours week and a 52 week year would = 2080.
Contact your state politicians and ask why you are not elegible for unemployment compensation.
Let us know what state you live in and the answer they gave you. (Frank)
Hi.
Can you tell me if there are benefits available to School Bus drivers who are employed until
May whatever...then basically unemployed until August if they are offered another contract
from the school system? How does that work?
Thanks.
