Come into the wood...

Into The Wood is proud to present fine wood sculptures and paintings from the foothills of the Appalachians. Created by a skilled artisan living in southern Ohio, each piece is unique and will make a treasured addition to your collection.

Wood Sculpture

A variety of native and exotic woods are used to create these fascinating figures - manzanita root, cotton wood, cypress, among many others - the natural shapes and characteristics of each species of wood guiding the creative process that frees the form within.

Paintings

From landscapes to seascapes to portraiture. Custom portraits can also be commissioned from high quality photos.

Artist Profile

Gary Preston, born near Detroit, Michigan, spent years building custom cabinetry and restoring fine antiques. After retiring to the remote hills of southern Ohio he took up wood sculpting and painting and showed remarkable aptitude. He is now gaining recognition throughout the area, and soon to be throughout the country. He has won several awards for both his sculptures and his paintings. His current studio is at the Pendleton Art Center in Ashland, KY.
