Algonquin Township Highway Department is a proud member of IEPA's innovative paint recycling program.
You will be able to drop off your waste paint at our offices the last Saturday of every month, March through November from 8:00 a.m. until Noon. These dates are as follows:
March 28th, April 25th, May 30th, June 27th, Jult 25th, August 29th, September 26th, October 31st, November 28th
Waste Paint Recycling Guidelines......
- We ONLY accept Latex and Oil-Based paint.
- We DO NOT accept aerosols, thinners, stains, varnish, paint removers, or any other household products.
- All paint for recycling MUST BE brought to our facility during the designated paint recycling times.
- A maximum of 10 gallons per person, per day, will be accepted.
REUSE
All usable paint that is brought in for recycling will be sorted by type and color. THe paint will then be mixed, strained, and combined into 5-gallon containers. You may contact the Highway Department at 847-639-2700 Ext. 6 for further details on obtaining this paint. All unusable paint will be poured into 55-gallon drums and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner by the IEPA.
