Toastmasters always have new opportunities for communication and leadership training, with recognition for their achievements.
New Toastmaster Club members receive their basic Communication and Leadership Manual when they join. This manual outlines 10 prepared speech assignments, starting with a 4 to 6 minute "Ice-Breaker". Each speech focuses on an different area of public speaking with written instruction and assistance toward developing a speech to practice this new skill. Each speech builds on previous skills through Speech #10, an 8 to 10 minute Inspirational Speech. Members completing the first 10 speeches earn the designation of "Competent Communicator" (CC).
The learning opportunities continue. Each new CC can order two (of 15 Advanced Communication and Leadership Manuals) at no cost. Each member can pursue their area or direction of interest while continually improving their public speaking skills. Completing these speech manuals lead to designations of "Advanced Communicator" (AC).
Leadership learning opportunities are also available through Club Officer positions, education programs, and special projects. These lead to "Competent Leader" and "Advanced Leader" designations.
